WALT creates artwork using an acrylic flip cup pour.
Introduction
In the past week, we were doing a type of art called Negative Space Acrylic Pour. A negative pour is when you ether pour the paint on the edges and leave a massive white gap in the middle. Doing a negative pour can be quite confusing at first but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty fun.
Explain:
The way to do negative pours is by this, First thing is to grab a MBF wood. Then with the wood paint it white. then after that grab 2 cups, One cup that is filled with white and the other cup fill it with any colours of your choice. Then you need to carefully pour the cup that has the white paint in the middle of the board. When that is done tilt the paint towards the edges but try not to get the paint over the edge as it will probably cause a big mess. Then with the cup with all the colours, pour the cup diagonally near the edges. then if you have any spare straws lying around you then blow the paint around but try not to blow the paint all over the place though. With that you then grab a balloon and do what is called the "kiss" technique, which is just dabbing the balloon lightly on the board.
Reflection
My acrylic pour had actually turned out really well. I was very well excepting it to look like a whole mess but it turned out very great. it looks great in my opinion and I am very happy with the outcome of the pour. This time I had actually listen to the video and my pour looked great. It is a great activity to do if you got the items lying around.
